How To Set Up People

Setting Up People



You can add people in two ways:

  1. By importing multiple contacts via a CSV file,
  2. Or adding them individually from the tenfour app.

To import contacts via CSV:

  • Select settings, then Import contacts
  • The app has a sample CSV file that you can download and fill out with your contacts’ information. We recommend you do this.
  • Once you’re done filling your contacts, save the file. Make sure that your heading and formatting match the CSV sample perfectlu
  • Upload the file. You will then be asked to match your data. Make sure that each contact field corresponds with the same heading in the drop down, then press done when finished.
  • Your upload will occur in the background and you will be notified via email when the import is complete
  • If the import fails, try again, no data will have been added in the failed upload.

To add a contact via the tenfour app:

  • Select people, then the + icon on the top right hand corner of your screen
  • Select add person, and fill out all the necessary details
    • Be sure to include at least one contact detail, i.e phone number, or email address.
  • Select a role you would like to assign to this contact
    • An owner can perform all actions in the application. Only the owner can manage billing and account deletion. There can only be one account owner.
    • An administrator has access to all features including adding and removing users, but they cannot change billing information.
    • An author can send and receive Check-Ins, view responses, view all contacts and groups, but cannot add or edit users or groups.
    • A Viewer can receive Check-Ins and view all Check-Ins, responses, contacts and groups.
    • A contact with Reply Only can only receive and respond to messages. They cannot see other user's contact information or responses.
    • The app defaults to reply only when adding a new contact. Be sure to select the right role for this new contact you are adding.
  • Once you have all your details, select create.

Please note that a person does not need to be a user in order to receive Check-Ins via email and SMS. But non-users cannot login to the app or update their information.

If you would like your contact to be able to log in to the app, and update their information, or perform additional functions as I’d mentioned earlier, you will need to Invite them.

To invite a person (or multiple contacts):

  • While on the People menu, select Invite person,
  • Then check all the contacts you would like to invite.
  • Invites will be sent to the contacts selected.
